PLANE
RMO – Chisinau airport
IAS – Iasi airport (152.9 km)
BUH – Bucharest airport (457 km)
You can fly directly into Chisinau via RMO airport, but sometimes you can find cheaper alternatives through Iasi or Bucharest airports in Romania and take a bus from there to Chisinau.
TRAIN
Bucharest – Chisinau (~13h overnight)
You can find train tickets on Moldovan’s train company website: http://www.railway.md/ with destination to and from Bucharest and also Kyiv.
BUS
Bucharest – Chisinau (~8h)
Iasi – Chisinau (~3h)
There is many buses that travel from Romania to Chisinau daily, you can use websites like https://autogara.md/ or https://infogari.md/ to search for some routes. You can pay online and also in person to the bus driver.
Most recently you can find tickets on sites like Flixbus, but also local companies offer rides from the European Union.
CAR
If you wish to travel to Moldova with your car make sure you read about the vignette – a tax for foreign cars to be paid in order to use national roads. Find more information on https://vinieta.gov.md/ for fees and other.

HOW TO GET AROUND?
Taxi / cab
Taxi is pretty cheap in Moldova, and there is a few apps you can use for easy booking:
Yandex Taxi & Letz are the most common.
You can add a card in the app if you want to pay with card, or cash at the driver. Usually you can’t pay with card directly to the driver.
Public Transit
Public transportation is very well developed in Chisinau, with a variety of Trolleybuses, Buses and Microbuses. The ticket costs 6 lei MDL and it’s only per one journey. It’s best to have cash to pay at the driver (at microbuses) or at the ticket seller person inside each Trolleybus or Bus, as there is only a few of them that are equipped with POS card reader.
Car rental
Many companies in Chisinau offer car rentals that start at about 40 EUR per day, websites like justrent.md , but also take a look online for other options too.

Restaurants
There is a big variety of good restaurants in Chisinau, some with traditional food, some with more international cuisine.
Andy’s – very popular choice, it’s a chain of restaurants with good food, a variety of options – mostly known for their pizza.
La Placinte – again a chain, but more focused on traditional dishes, at a good price.
Fuior – modern restaurant with traditional food
Little Napoli – Italian restaurant
Cafes
For coffees in town there is a lot of places to choose from, we recommend:
Granier, Artuso, Miro Cafe, Bonjour Cafe, Crème de la Crème, Notré Café, Tucano.
Groceries
Most big groceries have ready made food you can buy but also you can get your own groceries to prepare food if you stay at an AirBnb with a kitchen. Most common are: Nr 1 , Linella, Kaufland, Merci.
